Présentation

Roof Atelier is an artist-run studio space located in the historic St. Johann Institute building inthe St. Johann quarter of Basel. The atelier is shared by three two artists and one scientistresearcher: Pat, Zambi and Susanne.

For the Atelier Ouverts 2026, Roof Atelier expands beyond the studio format and transformsinto a collective platform. Together with invited artists, we create a dynamic, time-basedprogram that unfolds over open days. 30 – 31st May.

The event is not only an open studio, but a living situation:

video screenings, performance, live drawing, DJ sets, and site-specific works activate thespace throughout the evening.

Participating artists include:

Alyona Hrekova, Didde Larsen, Zanbagh Lotfi, Laure Mojo, Rondi Park, Linus Riegger.

Each day begins with a guided studio visit, offering insight into individual artistic practices,followed by an aperitivo. As the evening progresses, the space shifts into a collectiveenvironment where works intersect, overlap, and respond to one another.

Roof Atelier becomes a temporary constellation — a place for exchange, experimentation, andshared presence.

On Saturday, 30 May at 17:00, an interactive performance will be presented by the artistsAlyona Hrekova and Linus Riegger, on the terrace of the St. Johanns-Vorstadt Atelier.
