Présentation

My work unfolds at the intersection of performance, film, and drawing. It is driven by a desire to initiate moments —happenings — that momentarily loosen the grip of dominant logics of performance and productivity. I aim to create spaces where failing together becomes a different kind of success. To do this, I work closely with friends and familiar collaborators, exploring a language of care and intuitive release. Through partly scripted choreographies and reflections rooted in lived experience, I seek to turn ordinary encounters into shared acts of conscious attention. These moments emerge through performative improvisation, accidents, and role reversals, in which the work finds it’s way across the vision of all together. Influenced by silent cinema, experimental films of the 1970s — such as SymbiopsychoTx1Plasm by William Greaves — and the theatrical languages of voice and gesture, I am interested in blurring the line between rehearsal and event.

Parcours

Linus Finn Riegger (*1996, Basel) is a visual artist living and working in Basel. His practice centers on collaborative and process-based projects that combine performance, film, and art mediation. Drawing on his experience in social work and educational contexts such as K-Werk Basel and Allwäg, his work has increasingly engaged with art education and participatory formats since 2024.

Linus Finn studied Fine Arts at the HEAR Mulhouse and completed his MFA at the Institute Art Gender Nature (IAGN), Basel, in 2025. He is involved in collaborative initiatives including Collective Heartbreak, a performance group founded by students of the MA IAGN, and Small Cameras Operation (SCO), an initiative by Hsiao-Yen, Lucie, and Linus that explores animation and mixed-media approaches to filmmaking.

His work has been presented at Backslash Festival Zurich (2024), Kunsthaus Baselland (2025), Regionale 2025, Basel, Tanière Radieuse, Strasbourg (2022) and at Zeiträume Musik Festival Basel (2019).
