Présentation

L’atelier de Sebastian Schachinger se situe à Blotzheim, à proximité immédiate de la piste de décollage et d’atterrissage de l’EuroAirport. Depuis les fenêtres, on voit régulièrement des avions atterrir et décoller, ce qui confère au lieu une atmosphère particulière.

Le bâtiment possède une emprise au sol d’environ 12 × 12 mètres et offre une surface de travail d’environ 150 m². Il a été conçu et construit dans les années 1970 par Monsieur Zimmermann. Jusqu’à son décès, il y produisait et vendait des vérandas. Sur le même terrain se trouve un autre bâtiment, également dessiné par lui : un bungalow dans lequel son épouse vit encore aujourd’hui.

Sebastian Schachinger s’est installé dans l’atelier en octobre 2025 et l’utilise comme lieu de travail indépendant. Le bâtiment est couvert d’un toit en pente, avec une hauteur sous plafond d’environ 6 mètres d’un côté et 3 mètres de l’autre, ce qui marque fortement l’espace intérieur.

Dans cet atelier, il travaille seul avec différents matériaux, notamment le bois, le métal et des « found material ».

Sebastian Schachinger’s studio is located in Blotzheim, in close proximity to the runway of the EuroAirport. From the windows, aircraft can regularly be seen taking off and landing, which gives the place a distinctive atmosphere.

The building has a footprint of approximately 12 × 12 meters and offers around 150 m² of workspace. It was designed and built in the 1970s by Mr. Zimmermann. Until his death, he produced and sold verandas from this location. On the same property there is another building, also designed by him: a bungalow in which his wife still lives today.

Sebastian Schachinger moved into the studio in October 2025 and uses it as an independent workspace. The house has a pitched roof with a ceiling height of about 6 meters on one side and 3 meters on the other, a vertical difference that strongly shapes the interior space.

In this studio, he works alone with different materials, including wood, metal and “found material.”
