Présentation

The studio of SpOp&Bruinsma inhabits visual artist-film maker Marit Shalem and musician-composer Dirk Bruinsma. It is located in a farm-house dating back to the 18th century or older, no one knows for sure.

The large studio space, the barn, is gradually gaining form. The couple got this lovely place a year and a half ago. They use some of the rooms of the house as working spaces while in the meantime building on the larger space. For ateliers ouverts they will finally open up the barn for the public to visit and raise a toast. It will be a great moment, a reason to play an audiovisual show and to hang a series of paintings created over the last period. 

SpOp & Bruinsma work together, sometimes with other performers and they also work apart. Their collaboration brings forth audiovisual performances and films. Meanwhile they also support each other’s projects, Bruinsma as a sound-man on Shalem’s films and Shalem with trailers, designs and registrations of Bruinsma’s musical endeavors.
