The workspace is equipped with three tables and chairs, providing ample room for artistic production, research, or collaborative work. 

On the same floor, residents have access to shared facilities that encourage exchange and interaction. These include a workroom with a workbench for larger or more technical projects, the Salon Mondial exhibition space for presentations and gatherings, and the Cuisine Mondiale communal kitchen, which serves as a social meeting point within the residency.

Studio 7 is located in the 2014-built complex at Freilager Platz on the Dreispitzareal in Basel. The area has developed into a vibrant arts district situated behind the SBB train station. The building is part of an expanding artistic campus, positioned close to the Schaulager and Kunsthaus Baselland, and directly opposite the Basel Academy of Art and Design (HGK). It sits alongside a lively neighbourhood of artist studios, including the cooperative Genossenschaft Haus Oslo Ateliers, where independent artists work and engage in a shared cultural practice. The ground floor houses the House of Electronic Arts Basel (HEK), further strengthening the creative environment. 

Situated at the intersection of Switzerland, Germany, and France, Basel is an important economic and cultural hub with a distinguished artistic and intellectual heritage. The city is internationally renowned for institutions such as the Kunstmuseum Basel, Kunsthalle Basel, Fondation Beyeler, Museum der Kulturen Basel, Tinguely Museum, and the Antikenmuseum Basel und Sammlung Ludwig. Alongside these major institutions, an active independent scene and numerous off-spaces contribute to the city’s dynamic and diverse cultural landscape.
